Cal-FURS, a program of the Sacramento Children’s Home, is committed to protecting your privacy. While using the Website, you do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information. If you should choose to give us your personal information, you determine the amount of information you wish to provide. This Privacy Policy applies to data collection and usage on Cal-FURS.org; it does not apply to other websites.
Personal information of Cal-FURS.org users is collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Privacy Policy. Other websites linked from Cal-FURS.org may have their own privacy statements and/or policies.
• Changes to the Privacy Policy and Your Duty to Inform Us of Changes
It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will notify you through a notice on the Website home page or by sending an email to the email address you provided to us.

2. THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
“Personal Data” (or personal information) means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the person’s identity has been removed.
This Policy applies to Personal Data we collect:

• Through Cal-FURS’s mobile and/or desktop applications you download from this Website, through Cal-FURS’s mobile and/or desktop applications that are available for download from other third-party sources, or through such applications made available for your use through an authorized third party which provide dedicated non-browser-based interaction between you and Cal-FURS and/or this Website; and
• When you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services if those applications or advertising include links to this policy.
We collect different types of Personal Data from and about users of our Services, including the following:
• Identity Data includes: first name and last name (unless “Anonymous” option is chosen)
• Contact Data includes: email address (unless “Anonymous” option is chosen)
• Technical Data includes: internet protocol (IP) addresses, your login data, your internet connection, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and information about the equipment (computer or mobile device) you use to access our Services
• Transaction Data includes: details about transactions with you and other details of Services you have purchased from us
• Profile Data includes: details specific to the user’s profile/account
• Usage Data includes: information about how you use our Services
• Marketing and Communications Data includes: your communication preferences
We also collect, use, and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data may be derived from your Personal Data but is not considered Personal Data because this data does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific Service. We do not use automated technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking).
We do not maintain or associate the Technical Data we collect with your Personal Data. The Technical Data helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

The Website does not have the functionality for users to submit contributions directly (e.g., a forum), but you may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Services, or transmitted to other users of the Services or third parties, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. (collectively, “User Contributions”). User Contributions will be posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Website with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

We may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers’ target audiences. 6. USE OF SERVICES BY CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13
Although we are a nonprofit organization and our website and services are not necessarily directed to children under the age of 13, children under age 13 may access and use our Website and Services. We advise children under the age of 13 to contact us directly by phone (833-939-3877) rather than submitting personal data via the Website. The federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (collectively, “COPPA”) sets requirements to inform parents and legal guardians (as used in this section “guardians”) about our practices for collecting, using and disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13 (“child” or “children”). This section only applies to children under age 13 and supplements the other provisions of this Privacy Policy which apply to teens and adults.
This section hereby notifies users and guardians of: (1) the types of information we may collect through the Website which could be from and about children; (2) how we use the information we collect; (3) our practices for disclosing that information; (4) our practices for notifying users/guardians (if applicable) when we collect personal information from children, including how consent may be revoked; and (5) all operators that collect or maintain children’s information through this Website.
• Information We Collect From Children. Children can access many parts of the Website and Services and its content and use many of its features without providing us with personal information. However, some Services and features enable us to collect certain information such as name and email. We only collect as much information about a child as is reasonably necessary for the child to submit information to us and we do not condition a child’s participation or ability to contact us on the disclosure of any personal information.

7. DATA SECURITY

These individuals will only process your Personal Data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to or through our Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected incident involving Personal Data and will notify you and any applicable regulator of an incident involving Personal Data where we are legally required to do so.
8. DATA RETENTION
We maintain one or more databases to store your Personal Data and may keep such information indefinitely in order to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Accessing And Correcting Your Information Under California Business and Professions Code §22575 et seq.
