What is Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center (DVCAC) Live Chat? A free service that offers live, one-on-one crisis intervention or information & referrals with a trained DVCAC volunteer or staff member over the Internet using a service that works just like instant messaging. You’ll enter into a private session with someone at DVCAC who will communicate with you in real time, by typing messages back and forth.
Who should use DVCAC Live Chat?
1. Individuals experiencing domestic violence and/or child abuse.
2. Partners, family members, or friends of someone experiencing domestic violence and/or child abuse.
3. Individuals or spouses, family members, or friends of someone needing a referral or resource.
4. Those located in or concerning someone in Cuyahoga County.
5. Individuals 13 years of age and up. Beyond the immediate crisis, those under the age guidelines will be referred to another resource to assist.
The information provided during DVCAC Live Chat does not substitute for professional medical or mental health advice and shouldn’t be interpreted as diagnosis or treatment. If you need immediate emergency assistance, you should call 911, DVCAC’s 24-Hour Crisis Hotline Number (216-391-HELP [4357]), or your local Community Mental Health Office. DVCAC’s Live Chat services may be limited or blocked for users who engage in inappropriate language, vulgarity, harassment, or other inappropriate uses of services.
