The Spring of Tampa Bay, Inc. (“The Spring”) may from time to time make additions or alterations to these Terms and Conditions. These changes will be displayed here and will be effective once posted.

Introduction
About The Spring’s Chat feature
The Spring’s chat feature offers emotional support and crisis intervention to people in emotional distress due to current or past Intimate Partner Violence. Chat is available during hours that vary according to the crisis hotline’s availability. If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress and The Spring’s chat service is not available or is “offline,” please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK(8255) or 9-1-1. If you or someone you know is currently in the act of harming themselves or someone else, or if they need immediate medical attention, please dial 9-1-1.

AGREEMENT:
By entering this site, you expressly acknowledge and agree that neither The Spring nor any of its contractors, agents, or representatives are responsible for any personal information which you may enter over the Internet during transmission. Despite our efforts to protect your information some level of risk when communicating over the Internet is always present.

Because your participation in The Spring’s chat feature is not medical care or treatment, neither The Spring nor any of its contractors, agents, or representatives are responsible for any decisions or results of the decisions that you make while, as a result of, or after participating in The Spring’s chat. This includes whether you choose to seek or not seek professional medical or psychiatric care, or to modify or terminate specific treatment that you currently are receiving based on the information provided by this service. If the Chat Advocate concludes that you are at imminent danger of harming yourself or others, the Chat Advocate will request your contact information (i.e. telephone number and/or address) so they can attempt to provide you with additional assistance, including sending local emergency services to you. As a visitor, you may refuse to provide this information. If however, the Chat Advocate still believes you are at imminent danger of harming yourself or others, they may use other information available to them (e.g. your IP address) to help local emergency personnel locate you to provide you with further assistance.

The Spring’s chat feature may be limited or blocked for users who engage in inappropriate language, vulgarity, harassment, or other inappropriate uses of the chat feature.
Would we ever block someone’s ability to chat with us? If yes, do we want to have this disclaimer in case we need to block someone?

Privacy and Security
The Spring’s Privacy Policy is also available on The Spring’s website (www.thespring.org) and is a part of these Terms and Conditions and is hereby incorporated into this document by reference.

Our provision of links on the website does not constitute endorsement, sponsorship, or recommendation of the information or services found on any of these third-party websites. Your sole remedy against The Spring of Tampa Bay, Inc. chat feature or any of its contractors, agents, or representatives for dissatisfaction with the website or any content thereon is to stop using the website.
